Arches National Park protects 73,234 acres (29,630 ha) of high desert landscape sculpted into over 2,000 sandstone arches, hundreds of pinnacles, fins, and balanced rocks. Iconic formations include Delicate Arch, accessed via a 3-mile (4.8 km) round-trip trail; Landscape Arch on the Devils Garden Loop; Double Arch in the Windows Section; and Balanced Rock alongside the Scenic Drive. From April 1 to October 31, visitors entering between 9 am and 4 pm must hold a Timed Entry Reservation. Hiking options range from short walks (Park Avenue, Sand Dune Arch) to strenuous routes (Devils Garden Primitive Loop). Devils Garden Campground offers 51 sites, first-come, first-served outside reservation periods; no hookups. The Arches Visitor Center provides exhibits, orientation film, bookstore, restrooms, and ranger programs. The 18-mile (29 km) Scenic Drive is open sunrise to sunset; backcountry day hikes require no permit.
